About the Place
Sursingdhar is the ideal location if you wish to visit a hill station remote from the bustle of the city without the loud crowd that frequented hill stations like Nainital and Mussoorie have. It is a place located on a hilltop at an elevation of nearly 6250 ft (1905 m) above sea level in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. You can enjoy a stunning nighttime view of the New Tehri from here. The heart is drawn in by the breathtaking panorama of Chaukhamba and Nanda Devi peaks and the emerald colored Tehri Lake during the day.

How to Reach
From Delhi: Sursingdhar is 334 km from Delhi via Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Roorkee bypass, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Chamba route. From Chamba, follow the Tehri Road and take a right turn 8 km later. Sursingdhar is 2 km away from here.
From Dehradun: Sursingdhar is nearly 100 km from Dehradun via Mussoorie, Dhanaulti.
Things to Do
Himalayan Eco Lodges & Camps is the only accommodation available at the location. From here, you can ascend a hill for breathtaking views or descend toward village to see Sursingh Temple. The villagers claim that Sursingh was a shepherd who passed away while grazing his animals while asleep. The current temple is located in this particular spot. Villagers gave him the deity (devta) status. You can trek to the Suri Devi temple, located on a hill directly behind the lodge. Kanda village is all around the lodge. For information about short- to long-trail arrangements, rock-climbing, rappelling, river rafting and boating in Tehri Lake, speak with the lodge staff.
